i just saw paul frank presents the vice guide to travel at resfest, and i am completely dumbfounded by this movie. it's pretty intense... i feel really useless.

anyways, i really suggest you all buy the dvd and watch it, now!
i found some short clips of the parts here:

my grandpa, my yeye.

if only i could explain the kind of man my grandpa was. when he was younger, he was a real slickster. his hair combed back, black shirt, always with a hat and a cigarette in his hand, head held high. he still is suave as hell. a prideful man. so strong yet so stubborn, he held on living until we got there. but what i saw, i couldn't even recognize. his face so swollen, his body so small, eyes barely open. he couldn't even speak or blink to reassure me he was still in there. my grandpa really loved life, he loved to live, and never complained about it. i know there was still so much left in him, but with everything he's seen and done there's no doubt that he hasn't lived to the fullest. my grandpa's travelled the world. from all over europe and asia, to canada, to russia, to germany, to tibet, to the himalayan jungles, and to jumping off the great wall during the war. when i went to mexico and didn't want to stay in a resort, my grandpa was the only one who wasn't worried and even told me to stay as long as i wanted. he really seeked adventure, and i know i got that from him. he was an artist, a painter, a writer, a director, an actor, an architect, an interior designer; who married an artist, a painter, a fashion designer. they are such a good pair. even the mayor of the city came to pay his respects, because everybody knew him. so as if raising a good family, three kids, four grandkids, and leaving a great legacy behind wasn't quite enough to be proud about, i know at least he can be happy about many things in the incredible life that he's lived. this week was really rough, we're bringing his ashes home to canada because he loved it here and those were his wishes. i get to bring his dog home too. after the funeral, we went and did everything he loved to do because he wanted us to be happy. we ordered all the food he loved to eat at all the restaurants that were his favourite, and toasted to his favourite beer and whisky. i rode horses at the resort he loved, because he wanted me to ever since they moved in; and my brother played golf because he had always wanted to take him there. and i know he was there enjoying it with us the whole time.

i've never been more proud of someone in my entire life.
to my inspiration, i love you grandpa, i hope i make you just as proud.

my only regret was that he passed away on his birthday. he was 83.

okay, so i just want to say that through facebook i've reunited myself with people from my public school Gledhill who i haven't seen in like 10 years. i also want to say that these twins who were in my class, were my very first crushes ever, and they are still so hot. hot damn. anyways, i love seeing how people grow up and age.
